THE AGONY AND THE ECSTACY
Hannah Anderson is reuniting with her father today as her extended family members celebrate her safe recovery while mourning the murders of her mother and brother.
As CNN reports, Hannah was rescued in the Idaho wilderness after an FBI agent shot and killed the family friend suspected of killing her mother and brother, burning his own house down, and kidnapping the 16-year-old girl.
James DiMaggio’s death and Hannah’s rescue late Saturday afternoon ended a frantic weeklong manhunt. The girl did not appear to have significant physical injuries, authorities said.
“It’s now healing time,” the girl’s father said in a text message to CNN.
Fox News reports San Diego Sheriff William D. Gore said the teen’s father was “very relieved and very excited and looking forward to being reunited with his daughter.”
Speaking by phone on Fox News’ “Justice with Judge Jeanine” Saturday night, Brett Anderson further articulated his emotions, saying “I’m ecstatic [about] my daughter…we will be reunited. I’m still saddened for my life and son, and I’m worried about what my daughter has been put through.”
In the photo above, suspect James DiMaggio’s Nissan Versa is towed away after being found hidden in brush in Idaho.
There had been false sightings earlier in the week because police didn’t specify which model of Nissan Versa it was.
FBI officials from Washington State are now investigating the circumstances of the confrontation with DiMaggio as a standard procedure to any incident where an agent fires his weapon.

BREAKING NEWS: SUSPECT SHOT DEAD – HANNAH RESCUED ALIVE
Kidnapped California teen Hannah Anderson has been rescued and is recovering in a hospital in Idaho. Her abductor, James DiMaggio was shot dead by law enforcement officials. The pair’s campsite was spotted from a plan after a tip from a man who met them during a trail ride on Wednesday, but wildfires made for poor vision and unsafe flying conditions.
Two FBI hostage rescue teams were helicoptered in, but steep terrain made landing impossible, so they were dropped into the wilderness preserve and had to hike over two hours to quietly surround the campsite. The agents waited until DiMaggio and Hanna were separated and moved in. First, Hannah was rescued, then agents confronted DiMaggio, who apparently resisted, and he was shot dead.
About 270 officers from the FBI, the Valley and Ada County sheriffs’ offices, Idaho State Police, the U.S. Marshals Service, and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, aided by experts from federal land management and wildlife agencies, worked around the clock to figure out the best way to track DiMaggio and the teen in the roadless area.

BREAKING NEWS: SUSPECT AND HANNAH SIGHTED IN IDAHO WILDERNESS ON WEDNESDAY – VEHICLE FOUND
The massive manhunt has now moved to Idaho. CNN reports that horseback riders saw a man and a girl fitting the description of James DiMaggio and Hannah Anderson wearing backpacks and carrying a tent on Wednesday in a wilderness area in Idaho, about six miles outside Cascade, Idaho. Unaware of the manhunt at the time, they reported what they saw to law enforcement Wednesday evening after seeing a news report about the case.
As a result, that enabled investigators to find the suspect’s car hidden by brush in the remote ‘River of No Return’ wilderness area near Cascade. Police continue their danger warning and advise anyone seeing the suspect not to approach as he is considered possibly armed with explosives.
